  11.        INTRODUCTION
  12.  
  13.        This easy-to-use shareware program produces surprisingly accurate,
  14.        in-depth personality reports based on names and birth dates.
  15.        Professional looking reports run 6 to 8 pages and reveal the most
  16.        intimate traits and desires for yourself, friends, family, lovers
  17.        and even co-workers. The program uses advanced techniques to
  18.        integrate all related numbers, similar to what professional
  19.        numerologists do when performing personal readings. By going
  20.        beyond the simple "cookbook" approach as used by other programs,
  21.        reports are surprisingly accurate and relevant.

  23.        Each report includes detailed descriptions of the Life Path,
  24.        Expression, Soul Urge, Birthday, Master Numbers, Repeated Numbers,
  25.        Karmic Debts, Karmic and Modified Karmic Lessons and Intensity
  26.        Points. The program is the work of Matthew Oliver Goodwin, the
  27.        highly respected numerologist and author of the definitive,
  28.        "Numerology: The Complete Guide." An earlier version of Personal
  29.        Numerologist was offered in the Selective Software catalog.

  32.        PRINTING README AND DOCUMENTATION FILES

  34.        To print this readme file on a printer connected to port LPT1:,
  35.        enter the following command from the DOS prompt:

  39.        After running the INSTALL program described below, you can make a
  40.        printed copy of the User's Manual by entering the command:

  44.        and you can make a printed copy of our Product Catalog of related
  45.        numerology software and books by entering the command:

  50.        The Personal Numerologist program consists of about 34 files that
  51.        are shipped in compressed format. In addition, there are another 9
  52.        files that are compressed for the program User's Manual and
  53.        Catalog. An INSTALL program is included to decompress these files.
  54.        (The file PACKING.LST contains a complete listing of the contents
  55.        of the program after decompressing.) In addition, the following

  63.        distribution disk:

  71.        NOTE:  If you obtained this program through a BBS, it was probably
  72.               in ZIP format as NUMROLGY.ZIP. In this case all the files
  73.               are contained in NUMROLGY.ZIP instead. The PACKING.LST file
  74.               gives a complete list of the files you should have after
  75.               UNZIPPING this file.

  77.               The following installation instructions only apply if you
  78.               received Personal Numerologist on a diskette. If you
  79.               downloaded the program from a BBS, just UNZIP the files and
  80.               enter PN from the DOS prompt to start.

  83.        INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
  84.  
  85.        An installation program is provided to simplify the setup of
  86.        Personal Numerologist. If you are using a hard disk, this program
  87.        will decompress and copy all files from the original diskette into
  88.        the sub-directory \PN. If you are working on either a dual or
  89.        single floppy disk based system, the installation program will
  90.        make a working set of diskette(s) for you to use.
  91.  
  92.        To begin the installation, make sure you are at the DOS prompt
  93.        (exit Windows or any DOS Shell program that you may be in.) Next,
  94.        insert the Personal Numerologist disk into floppy drive A or B.
  95.        Then go to this drive by typing A: or B: followed by ENTER.
  96.        Finally, type in the command:

  98.             INSTALL
  99.  
  100.        and press the ENTER key.

  102.        Two screens of information appear that give complete instructions
  103.        on using the INSTALL program. The second screen is reached by
  104.        pressing any key after reading the first screen. The second screen
  105.        contains the actual command line syntax that needs to be entered.
  106.  
  107.        After reading the two screens of instructions, re-enter INSTALL
  108.        with the appropriate command line options to begin the actual
  109.        installation process.
  110.  
  111.        For example, to copy all the files from the Personal Numerologist
  112.        disk in drive A to hard disk drive C, enter the command:

  122.        As a second example, to copy all the files from the Personal
  123.        Numerologist disk in drive A to a 3.5 inch floppy disk in drive B,
  124.        enter the command:

  126.             INSTALL A B 3

  128.        The program will prompt you whenever you need to do something.

  130.        NOTE: If you prefer not to use the INSTALL program, you can copy
  131.              all the files into an empty sub-directory using the DOS Copy
  132.              command instead. Then execute the two self-extracting files,
  133.              CPDISK1.EXE and CPDISK2.EXE. Once all the program and
  134.              documentation files are extracted, delete CPDISK1.EXE and
  135.              CPDISK2.EXE. Use this method if you want to install the
  136.              program into a sub-directory other then \PN.

  138.        After the installation is completed, start Personal Numerologist
  139.        by entering the following command from the DOS prompt:

  143.        The first time you run Personal Numerologist answer Y to the first
  144.        program prompt:
  145.  
  146.             "Do you want INSTRUCTIONS (Y/N)?"
  147.  
  148.        This will give you enough information to successfully use the
  149.        program without reading the manual. When you are ready, the manual
  150.        will provide additional information that may be helpful.

  153.        SHAREWARE AND HOW IT WORKS
  154.  
  155.        Personal Numerologist is distributed as a Shareware program.
  156.        Shareware is software which is provided to you on a "try before
  157.        you buy" basis. It is not free software! We request registration
  158.        fees from those who try this program and decide they will continue
  159.        to use it. (We do not receive payments from retail stores, disk
  160.        vendors or BBSs who you may have already paid a small
  161.        "distribution" fee to for the program diskette or downloaded
  162.        files.) Because we do not have to pay the high cost of
  163.        advertising, the fees we charge for registration are modest in
  164.        comparison to commercially available programs. This fee also
  165.        allows us to develop new programs that may be of interest to you.

  167.        With Personal Numerologist you have the convenience of trying out
  168.        the complete program to decide if you want to keep it. This is not
  169.        a crippled or demo copy, but the complete working version of the
  170.        program. Only if you are satisfied and continue to use the program
  171.        do you need to pay for it. You are encouraged to copy the Personal
